Dear guests, welcome to St. Lawrence Hostel!

Upon arrival you will feel immediately the atmosphere of rich history of Sibenik. In the reconstruction of the Monastery in which the hostel is placed we followed the Šibenik tradition of nurturing medicinal and spice herbs so interior is decorated in Botanical Chic Style! Together with The Medieval Mediterranean Garden the whole area is an oasis of peace and beauty, just like it used to be 500 years ago but still with the all modern conditions of living. And that is not all!

Enjoy in spectacular view from our roof terrace. To the first beach is just 15 min walk and to the UNESCO’s Cathedrale 2 min.

The Medieval Meditarranean Garden of St. Lawrence & Restaurant

An integral part of the hostel is Medieval Garden of St. Lawrence with the restaurant. The Garden is notably rare as it is the only one of its kind in Croatia. It follows an established medieval design; a cross design for a pathway, small centrally located water feature and four distinctive sections filled with medicinal plants and herbs.

Croatian Language Courses for foreigners

The Hostel offers verified Croatian Language Courses for foreigners. Courses are conducted by qualified teachers in two hostel’s classrooms. If you would like to learn some of Croatian during your stay in Šibenik, send us an email and we will arrange it for you. We have special program for Croatian Diaspora and students of Croatistic.

Šibenik- Destination & Surroundings

Šibenik is in the central part of the Croatian Adriatic Coast and with its surroundings it’s loaded with interesting attractions, including the incredible medieval city center. UNESCO’ St. James’ Cathedral represent the crowning architectural glory of the Dalmatian coast. There are two national parks – the pristine Kornati Islands and the inland watery wonderland of river Krka. More about city history, sights and surroundings you can find out on Šibenik tourism.

Dear guests,

we would like to bring your attention to these couple important check-in details.

  1. Our hostel – St. Lawrence (Sv. Lovre in Croatian), operates at two different locations – the hostel building and the St. Lawrence garden. The two locations are within 50 meters from each other. In case we are not at the reception desk when you arrive, we are at the hostel garden – St. Lawrence (Sv. Lovre). Please follow the city directions to the garden (brown directional signs located on the buildings all over town) and find us there.
  2. The hostel entrance door is glass; NOT green. If you find yourself at the green door, please proceed 20 meters further, due west.

Our town of Sibenik is rich in small, cobble stone streets that are sometimes difficult to navigate. Everything is so close, and once you find your way, be assured you will not regret it.
